The song was co-written by the youth in the video while on a three day Heartbeat retreat in the desert. Retreats offer an invaluable space and extended time to write music together and explore multiple narratives, while also learning for and about equality, human rights, dignity, and social change. It is also a small window to experience what living in full equality feels like. The deep relationships that are built through this extended time together carry on throughout the year and tend to be the most valuable time together.
