We've been using AC by J for a while now and are 100% happy with the service. Mathew and Wesley were the most recent technicians to provide us service and they were incredible. They took the time to make sure our system was working properly and even had Derrick come out to help when they saw something they thought needed additional attention. We are happy customers.

Our 3 1/2 year old tankless water heater ceased working due to extensive corrosion. The AC by J team did a great job dealing with the manufacturer and secured a new, replacement heater. The issue was resolved and the replacement heater installed in a very timely manner. The installers were very professional and great to have them working in our house.

I came home from work at 5 PM last Monday to find that my water heater blew up. I remember thinking no way am I going to get a plumber out here tonight. I called Jake at AC by J and he had a plumber to my home within the hour. Pedro came to my house and had my new hot water heater installed in about 2 hours.
Thank you Jake and Pedro you turned a stressful situation into a NO stress situation. I highly recommend AC by J and when you call with a pluming issue I would recommend Pedro!

So... Was told tech would come between 12 & 5pm. The tech calls at 4:57pm to say he would be there in 45mins. He knocks on the door at 4:45. No apology for waiting so late to call... Nor the additional 45 min wait time. (A courtesy call should always occur.) Acted as if he was doing me a favor Vs a paid service. No respect for time. I'll give 2 stars as he did fix the issue. When I inquired as what the problem was... He points to a part and says 'this'. As if I knew what 'this' was.

Arrogant over the phone. Arrogant in person. Probably won't be my 1st, 2nd or 3rd... Or any call if/ when there's a next time.

Has to be the best air condition companies.Others I've used for my Mom and Dads house were snobs,acted like a secret society! AcbyJ,is a friendly professional business.I made my decision to use them when I saw the owner on a commercial taking about helping low income folks.Their servicemen are skilled and get right to work,don't complain,which tells me they are happy with their employer. Their unit has been a Godsend for this cold season,and responds well in heat.Wish more service companies would follow AcbyJ conduct.

Mixed bag with these guys. They installed a new rooftop AC unit at our condo a year or two ago, for a reasonable fee and on schedule. But then you're called repeatedly to set up a "free maintenance check" (whatever that might be). I finally did schedule, twice, but both times they failed to show.

To be fair, one of those was set for what turned out to be the hottest day of the year, so they got backed up. But they never bothered to let me know my AM appointment wasn't happening until late PM. Pretty disappointing.

DO NOT CALL THEM - RIP OFF!!!!

First time I had them out here was 2 years ago for their $99 service special. Technician did fine and found a bad contactor as well, which I had them replace. He also recommended that I put in EZ-traps on the condensate lines of my 3 units, even though I'd never had an issue. I asked him to provide a quote and they quoted me $329.00 each, for a total of $987.00. I was astounded. I went online, bought 3 of them for $25.00 each and installed them myself in 15 minutes each.

Fast forward to this week (2 years later). My fan on one of the units kept powering down and then turning back on. Other than that, the unit was working fine and cooling the house perfectly.
I decided to give them another try. (Some of us don't learn the first time) Tech came out for $89 and spent over 2 hours assessing the problem. Then had his field supervisor come out to verify the issues. They said that not only did I need a new blower motor, but there was also a Freon leak and I needed a new evaporator coil along with the 16.5 lbs. of Freon to recharge the unit. $1600 for the blower motor, $4,000 for the evaporator coil, and $4,000 for the Freon to recharge the unit. Almost $10,000 for the repairs!!!

I did some research and found that the blower motor cost about $725, the evaporator coil about $2200, and the Freon was $349 for 10 lbs. That's about $3600 in parts and half a day's work for the tech. Profits are fine, but 10X for the Freon?!?! $6,000 in labor and profit for half a day's work!!
But wait, they would recommend that, because the unit is 15 years old, I just install a new unit for the low, low price of ONLY $17,400. And the new unit was only 17 SEER vs my old unit, which was 19 SEER.
I told them I'd get back to them, and they put everything back together. Unit worked the rest of that evening, and the next morning, the blower motor stopped working entirely. Coincidence???

I called a friend that just had another company install his new HVAC unit. The guy came out, did not find a Freon leak, and installed a new blower motor for less than $1,000 (parts and labor) and the unit now works perfectly again.
I wonder how many people this company has RIPPED OFF?

We contacted AC by J because they were referred to us as a reliable, reputable company. Mike Windle came to our home within an hour of our initial phone call. He was courteous, professional and friendly. He gave us a very reasonable quote and the Refrigeration Unit was installed within 2 days as promised. Mike Windle called to ask how we were doing because the installation took place in July and was extremely hot. The installers were very courteous and made sure they covered their shoes when entering our home to check everything. Mike then called to see if we were taken care of in a professional manner and has called us since then to ask if everything is working as promised. We would recommend AC by J to anyone needing Hvac services or plumbing.

Great technician who was on time and worked hard to diagnose and repair our problem. I am confident he was very efficient.

I was sticker shocked by the prices for the parts, though. The markup charge to the customer for parts that can be obtained at any HVAC store or internet was just astronomical.
They charged us-
$92.00 for a fuse that could be bought at any home supply store for $10.00,

$220.00 charge for a $29.00 30/40 contactor.

$376.00 for a $75.00 surge protector.

I understand having overhead and a higher markup than the internet, but charging 9, 8, and 5 times the retail price for parts is just insane.

My first time experience with this business has left me feeling ripped off.
I would not recommend using this company. Shop around for a small business HVAC company who will treat you right and not have to over charge customers to support all the advertising around the valley and TV.

Had a plumbing service scheduled today for routine maintenance service. Upon arriving I learned it including the hot water heater (flushing the system, etc). Quickly cleared the area for the technician could reach it. Gilbert took one look at it and said he would not touch because of the age. Said it needed replacement. Asked why since it was working fine and not leaking. His replied (nasty tone of voice) that I should had done last year when it was recommend for $2,500. Differently over priced. He processed to turn on the kitchen/bathroom faucets and flashed the toilet. Said everything was fine, departed.
